Jason and Vanessa Lively
From: San Antonio, TX
Jason started a community owned radio station
and created films of Salinas.
Vanessa formed a small business that specialized
in creating and teaching graphic to prepar the
locals to run it so that when both of them left, the
community had a self-sufficient graphic design
business.

A small hill immediately above the village,
nice place to relax for an hour and watch
people playing volleyball below.
Vanessa and Jason Lively are
freelance specialists in various
types of creative graphics,
returned from South America
where they lived Vanessa and
Jason for nearly two years,
developing a developing a
community-based graphic
design company in the town of
Salinas de Guaranda, Ecuador.
In addition to their travels,
Vanessa is an accomplished
painter, while Jason has
studied history and
anthropology. They are both
musicians and travel the West
Coast playing tunes from
Vanessa's debut album, Let Me

Quito was the first- and last- city in Ecuador
that we visited. It became a base camp for
us and a get away from Salinas. This is an
amazing view of the city with the volcano

Every Tuesday in Salinas is a larger foundations

spend the day selling, shopping and cooking
while many of the men get drunk in the plaza.
