Last night one of the sisters showed us a
presentation about Immigration from their
perspective. It was so sad. There are so many
that try to walk from here to the US. And do you
know why? Because the  1 US dollar can by so
much here. I bought an ice cream cone yesterday
for about 12 cents. That is it. Many men try to get
to the US so they can send money here. These
people work so very very hard. It was sad and
there are so many that die or are terribly injured
along the way. You need to see the pictures.

I work with three projects here. One is the food,
the second is I teach english classes, and the
third is the youth group. Oh and one more. We
are tring to buy land so that we can build some
houses. I basically follow Sor Lucilla around and
do whatever she needs me to do, which is a whole
lot. I really do not have free time until 8 at night
and then it is time for me to study my Spanish
which is ok. I need a lot of work.I understand some
and can talk a little little bit. Still things are pretty
good.

I miss everyone and need lots of prayers. The
language thing is really hard to deal with
sometimes. Love you and hope to hear from you
all soon.

People here are very poor. There are
a few with nice trucks and cars and
really nice cloths. However the majority
are very poor. Most of the women wear
traditional clothing.  Vibrant colors and
little poncho like shirts. People are
very friendly and welcoming.
Yesterday we took a taxi to the hills where these very poor the way because the car could
only go so far. Then when we got there we had to leave because the lady of the house
was not there. I have never seen such poor people before. I am talking national
geographic poor. We then had to walk a very long distance because the taxi had left.
About a mile and half later we hitched a ride on the back of a truck with a dozen other
people.
