SITUATION:    Haiti, one of the
poorest nations in the world, has
been devastated by natural
disasters, political strife and recently
by the January earthquake, resulting
in a dire situation of poverty and
dependency.

DETAILS: CMPBS (Center for
Maximum Potential Building Systems)
and SET (Sustainable Earth
Technologies) in
Austin have designed the Self
Sustaining GroHome.

OBJECTIVES: The COMMUNITY
DWELLING Project will
• Provide shelter, work, and a
community setting for the locals
• Offer modern technology: solar
systems, wasteland treatment,
recycling, gardening, chicken
raising… all replicable so that the
locals can eventually manufacture it
themselves and help others, thus
growing in self-reliance.
• Foster the growth of Faith
Communities uniting the dwellers in
love of the Lord and of one another
as they reach out to others in need.
This is one of the most important
objectives of the project.
