Poverty here is a visible force that seems omnipresent: under-nourished children, lack of sanitary water supplies, and lack of proper clothing. Yet, despite the living conditions, people find true joy living in this close knit community and have strong, meaningful relationships with others. In their faces I see laughter, smiles, and joy...they are full of love, not fear. Throughout my time here, I hope to not only share what gifts God has given me to these people, but to continue to grow and learn from the people here.
